The Foliage Network
This network consists of more than five hundred spotters who identify
and report on peak foliage conditions throughout the U.S.

Google Desktop Search Tool
Google has released a beta version of a search tool one can use to find
content on one's own computer. It will search and find e-mail files,
word processing documents, powerpoint and other types of files. However,
it seems to be Microsoft-centric, and doesn’t work with Macs.

NIH Grant for Sequencing Technology Awarded to Amit Meller's Group
Amit Meller is a recipient of an NIH grant for developing DNA sequencing
technology. The proposal, described on this Rowland page, involves an
innovative approach to collecting data from multiple nanopores.
