Much Ado About RSS
The RSS (Really Simple Syndication) format enables one to track news websites, blogs and other online phenomena with the help of a newsreader. Bob Stepno describes several kinds of software available for the PC
( http://www.pcworld.com/resource/printable/article/0,aid,116018,00.asp), while an O'Reilly Network article considers those that work for the Mac http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2004/06/15/rss.html. In the library world, Gerry McKiernan of Iowa State has compiled two resources: one enumerates the many applications of RSS for libraries
( http://www.public.iastate.edu/~CYBERSTACKS/RSS.htm), while another provides a subject listing to journals which feature RSS feeds.
